For this first year project during her BA Ceramic Design, Carolina used the potter’s wheel to throw vessels, cut them and reassemble. The parts were then combined with another hand building technique – slab building.
Inspired by architecture and large scale metal sculptures, Carolina created her work. A series of maquettes were made with buff clay. The final sculpture (in two parts) has approximately 20cm height and 60cm wide. It is glazed with black metallic stoneware.
